1987 Honda Hatchback Timing Belt Question
hey there
I'm thinking of purchasing a 1987 manual Accord that's in pretty good cosmetic shape inside and out for $1100. Clean title. Only down side is the 228k miles and I don't know when the timing belt was last changed. Seeing at this can be a $500 or so job, do you think the car is worth it? Drives smooth and seems well maintained for it's age, but I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the money I would spend to change it and the water pump preemptively.
Any thoughts appreciated!
Thanks
Emma

Welcome in,try and find out who did the maint. On this car if possible, they should have records on their computer. See if there is an oil change sticker on the windshield any clues there.do you have state inspections, repairs may have been made there.
