Auto trans ID and fluid question....2001 Accord 4 cyl
Hi gang,
I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX...4 cyl with Auto trans..223,000+ miles
Is the Auto Trans a CVT??
What type of Honda Trans fluid is recommended??
Will another brand/type of Trans Fluid be acceptable and if so, what ?? (I was told that the Valvoline MaxLife Dexron/Mercon ATF was acceptable)
Are any fluid ADDITIVES acceptable such as LUCAS Trans additive??
Thanks for all help!!!
Mike

welcome to the forum. No your car does not have a cvt. go to the dealer and purchase "HONDA FLUID ONLY" "NO ADDITIVES" whom ever told you to use aftermarket fluids does not know that the honda transmission is very picky!!!!!!
When you get the time, go drive a new honda with a cvt, you will know the difference so quick. No shifting, lots of sliding and engine noise then quiet and fast.
