Default p1009 - slightly rough idle - how much should vtc solenoid open/close?

The 2005 Honda Accord sometimes has a slightly rough idle, but no noticeable performance degradation at higher RPM.

I had the oil changed, though the techs wrote down 5w-30 instead of the 5w-20 the car manual calls for.

After cleaning the vtc strainer and the solenoid, the code is still there.

I cleaned my VTC soldenoid and connected to 12v. It seems to engage and disengage without sticking. It looks similar to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYKikGysXqE#t=4m30s
How much should this be opening and closing?

What should I do next?

I bought a new solenoid valve for $65 and it seems to have done the trick. Even though the old solenoid was moving, it might not have been going as far as it needed to.
