Unhappy Steering feels loose even tho mechanic says it's fine

I drive a '14 Civic with electric power steering. Recently I hit a couple of potholes, and after hitting them, the steering definitely felt looser. I feel like I have to turn the wheel a lot more than normal to make a turn, and every time I feel like I'm gonna hit oncoming traffic. However, the mechanics at Honda told me it was fine, since the car doesn't pull to the left or the right. When I told them that I still think it feels loose, they said, "It's all in your head." I'm 100% sure it feels loose, though. So what could be the solution?

is there a steering settign you can change? I hate electronic steering but I know some cars have a Comfort, Standard, Sport mode for steering which adjusts sensitivity.

It also sounds like you need to check the control arms coming off the rack and pinion.

The thing I would put my money on is a peice of rubber that could be torn. I have no experience with new honda civics but I know on a mid 2000's pontiac grand pri the rack and pinion had some bump stops or some rubber things on each end of the rack that keeps the feeling "firm" when I drove it it had the same feeling... allot of free play. After they were replaced everything felt fine.

Hope that helps and sorry I don't know the names...

If you read the post he clearly swears on feeling a difference after the impact. Does electric steering suck... yes, all day. But does that mean he's wrong? Probably not

well in my experience mechanics especially honda dealers would want nothing less then to make money off of clients i mean that is how they feed there families. considering personally damaging the car is not under the warranty then im guessing they don't have ulterior motives unless you live in another dimension then me ??? if i was op then i would consider getting a second opinion.
