Buff away alloy wheel scratches

Buff away alloy wheel scratches
I got a 2016 Honda Accord sport 19" wheels which I got couple of small scratches after hitting a curb. There are videos on youtube about refreshing alloy wheels but that involves sanding and painting the rim "silver". This works well if the alloy wheel is entirely silver or one color but on these wheels. Anyone knows a way to fix this?

welcome to the forum. Depending on how deep and close to the edge, it might be better to have a wheel shop buff it out. if it is shallow and away from the edge you might be able to light sand with crocus cloth and buff it out yourself then polish. If you want to keep the rims bright a pro would be suggested.

My wife got a curb on our new Accord a few weeks ago that scratched the buffed finish, I could buff it out but would lose the finish,I'm taking it to a pro wheel repair shop,I have seen what they can do and it is worth the cost.

I realize I'm late to the party, but something to keep in mind is that most finishes on wheels are actually powder coated. It might look like a "buffed" finish, but it's actually powder coat. And the only way to fix it, is to have the finish stripped off and redone in a fresh coat. Yoou might try using a spray paint (duplicolor) that might match, but other than that , stripping and re-finishing is the only way to correctly fix it.
