2014 CIVIC : Gas pedal loses power, hesitates and delays when accelerating
Hi friends,
First time post as I just bought a brand new 2014 Honda Civic.
Ive spoken to the dealer, and Googled around to see if anyone else is having this problem but I seem to be all alone:
While driving my car in econ mode, the gas pedal is real iffy when accelerating. So much so that i can have my foot all the way down on the pedal for 2-3 seconds and it will not move, in fact, it will lose some power. Then, it will blast off. Other times while Im slowly accelerating, it will just hiccup and lose power for a second or two.
My wife who also drives the car does not notice this, so Im really confused at what Im doing wrong.
This could be a real problem when merging onto a freeway, or any bold moves really. "Sport" mode somewhat fixes the problem, but Id like to take advantage of this cars great low MPG feature.
Does this car just have a real sensitive sweet spot that I dont get? Ive been driving American cars all my life, so maybe its my style?

i don't believe your suppose to use econ mode on the highway its for stop and go city driving.the 2014 uses drive by wire correct ??? if so you can look into drive by wire lag reducers like sprint http://www.sprintboosterusa.com/
