Honda Accord Sport-Finally getting a Honda!
Hello,
I own a 2001 Toyota Solara v6 200hp that is giving me problems now. I am looking to purchase a 2013-14 Honda Accord Sport and I am excited because I have always wanted a Honda Accord and I love the sport trim. I know the Sport is a i4 with 189 hp.
My question is, would I be able to notice a difference? I am not really big on speed, I just enjoyed having 200hp because it seemed like enough "kick". I know Curb weight matters and the Sport is barely lighter maybe by 30lbs I think. I drove the base 185hp LX but then I saw the Sport has 189hp so I started to wonder if that would be the deal breaker.
I just want something reliable that is going to last me for a long time and I can enjoy driving as well with plenty of room and good gas mileage. I have always wanted a Honda and I can finally get myself one so i'm just doing some research and looking for input. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. You might want to test drive the sport accord to see if there is much difference to the solara. Newer vehicle usually feels a bit more strong, but hondas usually last longer, and the resale is better. you'll get a bit better milage with a i4 vs a v6.

Do Hondas typically lose horsepower over time? I keep up with maintenance very well. This mechanic was telling me that i4 like all engines can lose horsepower and for me to think about how much slower my car will be as it ages???? Will it lose THAT much horsepower??
