Question 03 CR V EX, SRS Light on

New to this forum,

03 CR V, 160K miles.........SRS Light on constantly, No indications of seatbelt not plugged in or out(Seatbelt Reminder light doesnt come on or off).
Have Service manual pdf and from what I can tell, not only is the buckle and buckle pre tensioner plug up under the seat cushion on the pass. side.

Could both items not be plugged in, SRS box bad, buckle switch bad or pre tensioner itself be bad. Can you check the pre tensioner be checked w a multimeter(Ohms)? Can I go to a autoparts store, and they be able to read SRS codes or is that a dealer only thing.

Son goes to college and hoping this isnt a hard item to fix.

You need to scan the SRS module.

SRS module requires a higher level scanner to read the DTCs stored in the module. Sometimes the connector get soda or something else in them which makes the lights go on. If you have children then they might have spilled something?? But, if you are intent with messing with them then be sure to disable the system by unplugging and then leaving it alone for a few hours to discharge. If you do not have a higher level scanner and you do not know what you are doing then go to a qualified mechanic. Better safe than sorry.
