2001 CR-V steering & suspension question
So, I'm new to Honda... just acquired this 3rd or 4th-hand. Fell in love with the trick center console and tailgating table, not to mention AWD lol.
One thing, though... I've recently discovered, while doing outer tie rods, is the lower ball joint is pressed into the spindle and not the lower control arm(which I'm more familiar with). Does anyone know of a different knuckle and lower control arm combo that will be a cheaper, more traditional setup? With lower ball joint installed into the control arm, I mean.

Normal ball joint...
I think part of the reason for that's is that the spring and shock don't support the steering knuckle, they press down on the lower control arm, which then pulls down on the steering knuckle from below.
Why do you want to change it though? Are you planning to modify other parts connected to this, or is it just that it feels weird to you?
