2006 HONDA CRV Hatch dashboard light blinks

A few days ago when i was driving,i noticed the warning light on my dashboard would flicker when i hit bumps or turn. The light was indicating that my hatch or truck may be open. Problem is,they are closed shut. This warning light only flickers when i hit bumps or make a turn. Once again my truck and hatch window are closed. What could be the problem? And how much will it cost to fix? My Honda CRV 2006 has 153,339KM on it. Thanks.

When your hatch closes it presses on a switch to tell the computer the hatch is closed. Locate this switch it looks like this:

This image is for a 1st gen crv but its the same in 2nd gen

I fixed mine by adjusting the rubber grommet on the switch. I had the same problem. You could also add a few layers of tape to the rubber

Do i have to remove the switch? Wont i damage it if i do remove it?

No its exposed. Inspect it first. See if the rubber cover is coming off. It may be as simple as sliding the cover back into place

I'll try tomorrow. I checked online and these switches don't cost much either. Hope I don't have to change the switch. What tape did you use?

I used a rubber stick pad from the 99 cents store. I put under the rubber cover making a little bump in the rubber. It fixed the problem. 5 minutes of work and 99 cents

I added small piece of foam/ tape to switch plunger.
Problem solved.
