Hi , newby to forum, but wondered if anyone has come across this before or can shed any light......
Driving from Essex to North Wales the other week and after around 200 miles, every time i hit left hand lock to any degree on steering a strange noise could be heard. The best way to describe it would be , imagine a glass bottle half full of water and you blow across the top of the bottle (yep , we`ve all done it at some point so you know what I`m driving at!) the more left hand lock applied the louder it got until it stopped, then as you come back to straight ahead it increased in volume again until it stopped. I arrived at destination with no issue and following day did a couple of short journeys ,around 20 mile round trip and nothing at all. I drove back to Essex and it never did it once, and ever since its been intermittent to say the least.. My first thoughts were power steering or steering rack but having had them checked by my local guys , nothing obvious..
I should point out that there was an awful lot of water about and I did wonder about power steering pump being affected (common problem with Land Rover Discoveries of which i`ve had a few...)but I believe this to be located fairly high up?
Any one had anything similar or any ideas?

welcome to the forum. Yes many people look to see if they can assist or if they too have had the same problem you have and continue to view. My accord did a similar sound, i found out from the dealer that there was an o ring that allowed air into my power system and as the air bubbles when through the steering rack it would make this odd sound. They replaced my p/s pump and no noise since. don't know if this is the same as yours. Don't know what o ring due to not at the shop to watch.
