2009 CRV sticky shift cable not going into park
Have 2009 CRV with a sticky shift cable not going into park on first try.
The problem started last summer and I removed the cover by the transmission and lubricated the the shift lever which worked great for 4 months until a week
ago.. I lubricated it again, but it is still sticky...it is colder now, but it was colder a month ago and it was okay.
Wondering if I need to attack from the top and also what lubrication should I use.....or any other thoughts.....
I used KL73 cable lube on first round...
Thanks,,,,,

I thought I would report back with the fix that I got from another site........
I cleaned up the linkage with brake cleaner and used the graphite spray....
The most important part of the cleanup was the rod where the boot can slide up and down on it......the boot was stuck on the rod and the rod was very sticky all the way down.....so I cleaned it up and added some graphite spray on it as well, which was probably the main contributor to the problem... ... The last time that was not done.....The issue is when the cable extends to go into park and the boot was not letting it stretch to where it needed to go to go into park, so it wouldn't go into park every time ....Its about freeing everything up to let the cable do its job.....I cleaned and sprayed the rod, the linkage and tried to get some at the transmission entry point....
