2009 Honda CRV EX _ AC Compressor Recommendations

Hi All,
I am looking to replace the AC Compressor on a 2009 Honda CRV EX w/ 89K which I recently purchased. The AC is working Ok after a charge but I think the clutch is going on the compressor. I was considering changing the AC compressor as a preemptive measure before a catastrophe failure of the entire system which might involve changing all components. My research shows that the AC System failure was a fairly frequent issue on the 2009 Honda CRVs.

Anyone have recommendations on which compressor is best.........Four Seasons, GPD, Denso etc.

I also see that GPD offers a new designed compressor: "GPD is the first in the aftermarket to offer piston style replacements for scroll compressors with the same exterior appearance and function as the scroll compressors. These piston style replacements reduce the warranty rate of commonly replaced scroll compressors, while increasing the cooling performance at idle and heavy traffic speeds."

Anyone have experience with these?

Thanks in advance!

Bob

ADDED: While considering compressor recommendations anyone know where to find information on how to replace the A/C Receiver Drier / Desiccant Element Kit; I have been searching online with no luck!

I searched and found a service Bulletin from Honda regarding an issue with the Air Conditioner clutch of certain CRV years. Apparently they covered the clutch for 7 years or 100,000 miles. Too late for anyone currently having issues but at least takes out the guess work for diagnosing the issue. I just ordered a new Denso AC compressor from Rockauto.

Good luck!
