Default 2016 CRV rear safing location

Hello, can someone help me locate their rear safing sensor on a 2016 CRV awd ex model. And how to remove it. Trying to troubleshoot intermittent SRS light and codes.

thanks

Default Rear?

I cannot answer your question directly as that would require vast 2016 Honda SRS experience and/or the electronic diagram for the SRS.

That being said, it is my understanding that the new high functionality SRS systems incorporated the safing sensors into the ECU. If that is true, they all would be under the center of the dash.

Sooo, what codes are you reading?

Here are the codes that I last read. The SRS light comes on intermittently after starting vehicle it either stays on or goes away after startup. If it stays on after startup then it remains on for the remainder of the drive. If it is off after startup then it stays off for the remainder of the drive.

Default Intermittent

Wow, that appears to be a widespread failure. Because it is not isolated to one sensor (impact or safing) and it is intermittent, that would indicate to me that it is the SRS ECU that is failing.

From a safety standpoint, I would not operate the vehicle with an SRS failure if it was avoidable.

This repair will not be cheap but you may be able to have it reset and/or reprogrammed.

Good Luck

Yeah, the dealer approach is to replace all sensors and the SRS module for 3K. I'm wondering if I should just try to replace the Side impact sensor (easiest to access) and see if it still has a code for that sensor then I would think the SRS module is bad. Or would just sending out the SRS module to be reset be the best approach here.
Although there may be more to this. When checking the Live data from Innova 5610 scanner, it is giving me a 'not sitting' for the passenger's sitting switch when I am sitting in the passenger seat and no weight showing for the Number of Front Passengers Seat Weight sensor.

The history of the vehicle is some damage to lower front after hitting curb in parking lot, no airbags deployed, no SRS light. Not sure when the SRS light started to appear. The passenger seat has been an issue where the 'airbag off' light would come on when a passenger was seated there that should meet the requirement to have it on, but wiggling in the seat could get it to go off.

Load test the power and ground circuits of the module.
