2017 CR-V Electric Brake System

Hi everyone! I have a 2017 Honda CR-V. Somehow last night, while the key fob was in my pocket, I accidentally opened the windows/sunroof halfway, and of course, it rained. I dried everything out fine this morning, but I'm getting an in-dash error message that reads: "Electric Parking Brake Problem", the red "Brake" light is flashing, and sure enough the parking brake won't work (not that I ever use it).

I'm guessing the system must have gotten wet somehow (or it's a freaky coincidence), but I'm wondering if it just needs to dry out, or if I can reset it by disconnecting the batter.

If I DO disconnect the battery, what systems can I expect to have to reset?

Thanks!

UPDATE! Problem solved (for now). I let the car idle in the driveway with the windows closed, the heat on Hi, and the air conditioner on (I read somewhere that air conditioners have built in dehumidifiers). After about an hour, the problem seems to have "dried up". I won't be surprised if it comes back on damp or humid days, though.

welcome to the forum. good fix, hope it stays fixed for a long while at least you know one way to fix this. if your car is still under warranty, might ask Honda dealership if there is a fix for this, don't tell them you left the sun roof open in the rain. if out of warranty, keep the electric emergency brake switch dry.
