2017 CRv overheating while idling.
For a few days, my CRV (with 165K miles) has been overheating while sitting still, at red lights, etc. I checked the fans and expected the cooling fan to not be running, but it was! But not the loud and fast running. So, is there a high-speed relay? The temps have been in the upper 90s the last few days.
It had gotten hot enough about two or three times to flash the warning about "stop and turn off the motor," which I did before it ran very long; I hope I haven't damaged it.

Damage would start when the temp gauge red lines. And certain damage when steam comes out from the hood.
It being hot, I would assume you had the AC on. Does both ac and radiator fan turn on?
If it does then it might be time for a good flush of the cooling system or the thermostat needs changing??

My coolant level in the overflow tank is low; some coolant is at the bottom, nowhere near the minimum or maximum lines. I will get some OEM coolant and add it and see if I'm all good because my fans are spinning. I'm not sure if they are at the right speed, but they are spinning.

I picked up some Honda OEM Type 2 Antifreeze/Coolant and added it to the minimum fill line. Now my fans are running normally (noisy/high speed), and the car temp gauge stays steady after idling for 20 minutes in 98-degree Mississippi heat with a 113-degree heat index.
All is well now; thank you for your input!

Magic
Glad to hear that all is well now but is it really?
Where did the coolant go? Leak? Head gasket? Years of neglect?
While adding small amounts of coolant is normal, having an empty reservoir is not a good sign.
My suggestion is that you keep a close eye on the level.
YMMV
