2019 CRV Steering Issue

2019 CRV w/ 42,800 miles "Touring" model with ACC and LKAS functions

In the last week or so we are noticing that the steering has become "notchy". It no longer steers smoothly as you move the wheel left or right.
If you are driving in a straight line, it seems to take extra effort to move the steering wheel even small changes in direction.
Whether LKAS is turned on or off... it doesn't seem to matter.

Does the forum have any ideas?

I would suspect the power steering pump.

Welcome in,your vehicle is under warranty, have the dealer check for problems. It’s possible its alignment ,i had this happen to me and it was a tire that the belts had seperated , good luck.

Do you hear any whining coming from the engine compartment as you turn the wheel? Could be as simple as low power steering fluid.

Continues to be "notchy". If you turn, it takes extra effort to go back straight. If you are going straight, it takes extra effort to turn.
No noise from engine compartment. Tires look beautiful inside and out.
This 2019 unit has electric power steering. (see photo)

Check power steering fluid
Check tire pressure
Inspect the outer tie rod ends

Sounds like maybe faulty lane departure feature, just a guess, get it checked out by dealer.

Lil G's post above got me thinking...
Spent some time in the car today with it parked.

Went to "Driver Assist System Setup" in the Vehicle Setup section. Reset the settings.

Fixed it. :)

That is good news
Thanks for the up date

this is same with ours. It has a sticky place and you have to tug it to get it back in the lane regardless of the LKAS. It seems to be getting worse. HELP. ]
