2024 CR-V rough idle

Hi, newbie here, I bought a new 2024 CR-V EX-L about 4 weeks ago. Every time I stop at a traffic light with the AC on my CRV idles roughly to a point that I feel it in my seat and also the console.

I made a service appointment and took the car in and afterward the tech stated that the car is doing what it is designed to do.

I have had many cars in my 50 years of driving and I feel this is not acceptable. I’m not sure if I should take the car to another dealer or contact HONDA USA for customer support.

Any suggestions?

Hi Tech

What you describe may not be a rough idle per se. It may be simply that your idle speed (warm engine in drive w/ brake on) is too low. The A/C represents a large parasitic draw and your engine at idle is not powerful.

So, being under warranty you should take it in. Documenting each time with all the details, names, times and dates.

I suggest that you might want to ask the service dept if they tried an “Idle Learn Procedure” which resets the PCM/ECM and if they checked the throttle body.

Expect to lose all your programmed settings.

Good Luck

Thanks. I made another service appointment and I asked to have an Idle Learn Procedure done. But that won’t be until March 11. I’ll let you know what happens.
