Brake light issues

Recently bought a '98 CR-V. Everything is in tip top shape but the brake lights don't work. Replaced brake pedal switch and bulbs to start with and no change. Tonight I broke out the multi-meter and checked for power at the driver side taillight connector. There's power in turn signals, running taillights but nothing from brake pedal when engaged. I'm pretty clueless what it could be at this point. Any suggestions?

welcome to the forum. check the emergency switch, i believe the brake power goes thru that. also check the fuse.

Thanks for the welcome! When you say check the emergency switch, do you mean the the hazard lights switch? and the fuse for the hazard lights? My fuse block doesn't have a spot labeled for brake lights.

thanks for the help. turns out the manual was the best tool in diagnosing the problem. missed a fuse(15A) in the under hood fuse block cheers!

That is good news. Not an expensive fix and done right.
