CR-V oil Level

Last month I made this post:

The book say 4.6 quarts oil for my 2016 2.4l engine.
Dealer also says 4.6 quarts oil with filter change.
Several times I measured exactly 4.6 quarts oil and stick always shows 1/2 quart low.
I made sure the car was level and I let the oil drain back overnight.

It has over 700 views and no replies.
Does this mean all who vieded this post are not having this problem or is it just me???

it may be that many of the viewers have the Honda dealership or a certified repair shop change their oil. Or many change their oil and filter and refill to the stick full mark, after short engine run, and not to concern with exact amount of oil per manual. i know this was answered some where else with many replies where the member was not pleased with the answers given.... this may have gotten overlooked. Sorry.

Don't know what others can say about this issue you are having??
But, it seems like it is not such a big deal or just an easy fix??
Pour the rest of the last quart in and you're close enough??

Other's have this issue. Maybe??
But, it isn't like it is being diluted with gasoline bypassing the piston rings???
Or am I looking at this wrong??

Its possible it maybe the wrong dip stick or the tube maynot be seated correctly in the block

Thanks.
I do fill it to the full mark on the stick.
I have the same problem with other new cars.
One says 5.07 quarts.
Give me a break with this .07.
I remember years ago when the right amount of oil was put in the stick showed full.
I quess this new generation of engineers never thought of that.

In regards to oil capacities in the owners manuals on new cars it won't be long until they say 5 quarts and 1 teaspoon.

acmech52 11-11-2019 10:21 PM

Lol. i agree 100% on 5 qt 1 teaspoon.. i worked on a/c and some had to record if 1/2 qt was added to the engine, and signed. i like the old days, add oil to full mark.
