Thumbs down CRV Window Cracks

New to forum. Thought I'd try to find some answers. I have a 2015 CRV-Touring. I came out to my garage one morning and there was an approximate 5" hairline crack at the bottom of the driver side front windshield that stretched uederneath the plastic panel that the windshield rests under. I ran my hand over the crack (no pun intended) and couldn't feel a thing.

Lets move forward. I took it to the dealer and the svc tech pulled out his magic pen and was able to find a miniscule spot that caught the tip of the ballpoint. He immediately said it must have been hit by a pebble.

I have searched the internet and found numerous instances among CRV owners with the same problem. The starting and endinding points of the crack are in exactly the same position as mine. Some got it fixed under warranty and others conceded to the pen test.

IMO, there is some manufacturing or installation defect in these windows that reacts to temp changes when, for example, you repeatedly run the AC on high temp days and causes stress to the affected area.

What is your opinion ?
