CVT transmission on the CR-V: Yes/No?

We have a 2012 AWD CR-V and have had no problems. Great vehicle. Looking to add a 2018 CR-V to the family but not sure about the newer CVT transmission which seems to be the only option now. We've had toyotas and hondas and notice the Rav4 is still auto transmission, but not the CR-V, so considering both. We do both city and highway driving, including occasional winter conditions. Thoughts appreciated as to your experience with the CVT transmission on the CR-V. Thanks!

When I was at Honda dealer, they said that the newer CRVs only come with CVT transmissions.
So, I bought a 2007 Honda CRV
Waiting to hear more about the new CVT transmissions

I have a 2015 Honda Accord with CVT. Now with 75k on the car, the transmission has failed and I've been told it will cost $14,000 to replace. I would stay far far away. Not sure what "benefits" the CVT brings, but if it fails...there is ZERO benefit.

I have the 2018 CRV. Love the transmission. Previous vehicle was a 2013 Murano. This vastly superior.
