Default Disabling HondaLink radio

I'm contemplating getting a Gen5 or Gen6 CR-V, and I would prefer to have a "disconnected car". Have any of you successfully removed or disabled the cellular/LTE radio in your CR-V? Any pointers to instructions or reports?

Per a local dealer, the radio is embedded in the PCM, so pulling a fuse could prove problematic. (I'm not sure I fully believe that answer, but it's the one I've gotten.)

Your radio is a modular unit and is not a part of the PCM. But, What portion of the unit are you trying to delete? GPS? Cellular only? I think I misunderstood your question. I do know that to delete any portion and not all will require removing or disabling an IC chip from the unit.
I wouldn't know what chip does what without a service manual for the unit.
I would get hold of a module rebuilder and ask them if they can delete whatever it is you need.
I would think any place that repairs these can do what you need.

I'm trying to disable or remove only the cellular radio, although I'm willing to lose GPS as collateral damage. I want to keep Bluetooth working as well as regular FM radio reception.

Did you ever find a solution?

Sadly, no. I ended up buying a different make and model.

A Subaru Outback. Some years and trim levels are available without the telematics module, and there are (clunky) ways to disable it in the ones that have it. Also, most of the cars (in the years I was looking at) shipped with only 3G network support. As 3G networks have been turned off, that's made those cars "semi-disconnected".
