Experience with high mileage CR-Vs

I'm considering purchasing a 2006 CR-V that has 225K miles. We know the family that owns it. They bought it new and it appears to be well maintained. Frankly, that is the only reason we are considering the purchase. Regardless, I'm a little nervous about buying a vehicle with so many miles. I'd like to hear from anyone out there that has any experience, good or bad, with a CR-V that has over 200K miles. Thanks!

welcome to the forum. i don't have experience on a CR-V, but on (my cars) a 90 accord with 250k+miles, a 07 Fit with 288k+ miles, 02 civic 350K+ miles, as long as the car has been cared for by a dealer or a person who knows how to take care of a car well, you will get many more miles out of that honda CR-V.

If it's had all maintenance done on schedule it's about half used up, barring interference from Murphy or the aliens.

My CR-V only has 173k, but when I was looking for a car, I test drove one with 225k, and one with 280k (the ad had said it only had 180). Both drove fine, and gave me no issues. Granted, I only drove each for about 5 minutes, but I was looking for problems, and didn't find any on either car.

If it has no current issues and has been well maintained I would not be afraid of it (if the price is right)
