headlight issue - wiring?? hight beam troubleshooting
 

Low beams working fine, but drivers high beam is out, passenger side works fine.

Checked voltage on passenger side, low beam (green and yellow) have proper voltage and high beam (yellow) has voltage

Drivers side, low beam (brown and white) has voltage, but on high, neither brown or white has voltage, would expect white to have voltage similar to passenger side.

I would suspect that on low beams, we are getting voltage across all terminals, that terminals are fine?? Is there an independent high beam feed?

I see that in fuse box, there are independent 10a fuses for low beams (left and right side), but there is a combination H/L High Main 30a in an enclosure I didn't open, but since one of the high beams is working, rule that out as an issue.

One time, both headlights/fog lamps went out at same time, dealer replaced all bulbs, stated it was since we had too high off power bulbs (Sylvania Ultra), call BS on this.

This is just a guess,but check for ground out,see if there is a rubbed /scuffed wire . This maybe time for an auto electric specialist.

wires look good (they are wrapped with that plastic protective wrap), but would think if I got proper power on the low beam side of things, connections/wires should be good.

Is there any separate wiring dedicated to the high beam circuit that controls right or left sides? the DS could have an issue, but where is run, not clue.

In that sealed fuse box, both high beams are on one circuit, but if it's a ground/short I would suspect this to be tripped/blown.

The only other thing I can think of is it may be the bulb itself,I have seen new bulbs do crazy things and look fine upon inspection. You might try swapping them and see what happens

wish it was just a bad bulb, tried several, This has been a problem for quite a while, burning out numerous bulbs. Not having voltage on that side I guess is giving a clue, but what to check, no clue. kind of hard to trace wires back.

Impossible to find a proper wiring diagram for headlight circuit from that the 2012 generation style CRV without having to go buy a service manual.

Have you tried getting a diagram on line maybe,I know in the past I have copied a page or two pertaining to a problem.

If it is similar to a 2007 CRV ...

Did you pull back on the stalk switch to see if the high beams flash on?
Did you check under dash fuse box?
fuse 13? fuse 19?(easy to check all of them with a test light)
The Multiplex Integrated Control Unit (MICU) controls the high beams
For me the MICU is just a black box. Power going in and controlled by the switch then power going out to bulb
Not much else to look at ... other than to check the wire looms for an open or short
