Unhappy key noise

Hi all. I am new to this forum. I have a few questions. When i tried to start my crv i heard a buzzing noise in the start mode. This buzzing sound comes from the key area I believe. I tried starting it around ten times and always the car started. But when you go to start the car and dont fully start the car you hear a buzz. This buzz almost sounds like a key reminder. Any ideas? the Honda is a 2004 Honda CRV.

Thanks

I just googled noise from key on 2004 honda crv. And guess what a video showed the exact buzzing noise. It was the ignition switch in the column. Has anyone ever replaced this ignition switch? any insight would be appreciated.

thanks

It is a very difficult procedure,if I remember right the mounting bolts from the factory are sheared off and very hard to get off,as well as having to rekey the new cylinder and dealing with radio codes because of disconnecting the power, that's just some of the headaches.its best to let a pro do it.

Its not the key switch I need to replace. There is a electronic ignition switch. Test test test.

Well a lot of times you have to take you tube videos with a grain of salt. So when I saw this video work I thought why not. The switch is in the steering column. There are three screws you need to remove and separate the two halves. the switch is opposite the key side. The switch is held in by two screws. Also there is a clip that plugs in. To reassemble it is in the reverse order. After trying to start the car about twenty times the buzz was gone. I assume if I didnt replace this switch the car would eventually not start.

Thanks
