82 CM250 Custom - Chain no master link

Picked up a used 82 CM250, trying to remove rear tire.

Manual says to find and remove master link. I looked awful hard at both sides of the chain, can't see to locate a master link... is it possible it doesn't have one? Is taking the chain off a requirement to get the rear tire off?
Thanks for any tips...

No master link

After much looking by myself and a buddy, can only conclude 1) the Haynes manual is wrong and the chain didn't come with one, or 2) a previous owner replaced the chain with a master-linkless version.

Either way, I was able to remove the rear tire by loosening bolts, pushing tire forward, and simply unhooking chain from rear sprocket and removing tire. Not a big deal at all.

Was even able to clean the chain with it still on main sprocket and an oil change pan underneath it w/chain cleaner.
