Hello I am new to the forum and new to riding. I just got a 2004 Honda shadow 600 vlx and I had some general questions about regular maintenance. I was recommended the purolator one PL14612 for the oil filter but I was wondering if I could get some more guidance like what kind of oil to use, what spark plugs, what air filter to get, when I should replace the brake fluid and what kind to use, what gas I should use and if I should add anything to it like seafoam.

 

welcome to the forum. when I had my bikes, I went to the dealer shop and asked all my questions on that type of bike. they are reluctant to give out much info, but in my time I would ask if I brought it in, how much and what products are used and schedules of changes. they gave in al the info I needed and I did all the work myself.
