rain caused engine failure
I have a 1977 Honda CB550K Four (bought new) that has always given me problems when riding in the rain. The motor wants to stall out and quit running in a light sprinkle unless I keep the revs up, and the harder it rains the sooner it quits altogether -- keeping the revs up doesn't help at all and even seems to kill the motor when the revs get up to 3000 rpm. I have changed plug wires and caps, and nothing seems to help. SOMETHING IS GETTING WET THAT CAUSES THE MOTOR TO SPUTTER AND EVENTUALLY STALL OUT AND QUIT. I have been stranded in the rain so many times over the many years that I have lost count. ANYONE OUT THERE WHO EVER HAD THIS PROBLEM?? PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THE MOTOR TO STALL WHEN RIDING IN RAIN.
