05 element brake issues
Hello!
I recently bought an 05 element and after it sat for two years, decided to "restore" it. It's only got 80k miles so seems well worth it to me. Fixed all the engine issues and it purrs like a kitten. Now I've been working on the brakes. The front right and rear left calipers were both damaged, so I ordered replacements that came in sets so figured might as well change all 4 since it came with them. I've also replaced the master cylinder. I've bled the brakes fully multiple times using a mityvac and the last of which had absolutely 0 air bubbles. The brakes still feel VERY squishy and go nearly to the floor before any resistance. Could it be the brake booster? What else is there? I'm getting light brake fluid flow on all 4 corners with the mityvac at 20. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. |
welcome to the forum. check to see that the ABS/VSA modulator solenoids are bled of trapped air bubbles. this will cause squishy brakes.

How do you check for bubbles in the abs? Or bleed them? I checked for any bleeder valve on the abs module but saw nothing :(. Also thank you for the reply!

Silly question ... are the brake bleeders on top
Have seen some put their caliper on the wrong side Left on the right. This turns the caliper upside down and the brake bleeders will be on the bottom Which then makes it impossible to bleed the brakes properly As I said silly question. |
