How to lock doors w/engine running & not in car
 

I have a 2010 Honda Element and I need to be able to get out of the car and lock the doors with the engine running. I'm doing this so I car keep the AC on for my dog, any and all help is greatly appreciated.

On my 2007 CRV, I just lock the door and closed the door shut.
Sometimes I close the door and use the key to manually lock it

I've only got one key. I'm over a hundred miles from a Honda dealership or I'd get another one made and try that

Go online and buy a cheap replacement door opener.

They are simple to program, instructions come with them.
