2009 Fit AC problem
 

Got an interesting problem on my AC!

When I am stopped at a red light the AC is really hot. I start to accelerate and it will stay hot UNTIL i let me foot off the gas. After that the aircon is crazy cold as long as I am going, but if I stop at a traffic light, it stats all over again.
I was think the idle kick up, but this is doing the opposite?

Any ideas?

It is possible that the AC fan at the condenser is not turning on.
While driving/moving, the air flows across the condenser and cools
While stopped, the air isn't flowing so system stays hot

Pop open hood and turn AC on
Look at AC fan to see if it turns on
If not then suspect
If it does then something else

welcome to the forum. have you checked the pressure of the Freon you have in your system. normally a low Freon pressure will have a no cool air at idle but with engine rpm up, it will cool. (if the pressure is good, cooling all the time no matter if the idle is up or down.)

Thanks for the quick replies!!! The freon was checked and was full.

For example, if I was to go from the stop light 0-100 with the gas pedal pressed down, speeding up fast or slow, the AC will stay hot, but as soon as I take my foot off the gas pedal, its gete cold immediately, i can then cruise all day until I stop at a stop light. After I get the AC cold, (after letting off the gas) I can go faster or slow (like slow down to a light), but as long I dont stop its going to stay cold....really wierd

I believe Honda also has a pressure sensor that may cause the system to go weird if not working properly. ( only experience I got was from my 90 accord ) sensor on that one was just back of the radiator, pass side screwed into the pressure line, don't remember which line, had 2 wires off the sensor.

viewed 09 fit a/c diagram, the air condition pressure switch is located above the receiver/dryer unit.

Anyway, AC unit has pressure sensor to see if there is enough coolant in system
If not enough pressure, it can turn off the AC compressor in an effort to save it from running without enough refrigerant
Where it is and how to get it out? Don't know, sorry.
