Jerky acceleration sometimes

I did buy the Fit, 2019.

I don’t gun my Fit when accelerating. That being said, when I accelerate slowly, the engine feels like it’s not quite “catching” and it hesitates. Is this the CVT transmission causing this odd jerky stutter feeling? Thanks for your thoughts.

yes it is possible the cvt causing a jerky stutter feeling. if your car is under warranty, 3yr 36K miles or longer, take it into the dealership to get checked out. ( do not say you added aftermarket transmission fluid weather you did or not. lost of warranty on the trans )

Ok thanks. Seriously can’t imagine this being just the way cvt transmissions drive. I’m not impressed with them. Also the radar is supposed to warn me when I’m in danger of collision. It beeps and warns me when it isn’t needed like a car coming in opposite direction. Dealership during oil change checked and said they couldn’t replicate it but if it continues to tell them. Well, of course it continued, cause they didn’t do anything to adjust it. 🤓

If this turns out not to be the problem try cleaning the throttle body.

on the warnings when a car is just opposite traffic, the dealership may be able to reboot your computer. the odyssey and pilots are doing the same thing. Honda's fix is to reboot the system. with our 16 HR-V with 22k miles, we don't have any problems with the cvt. it is was serviced by honda. if you don't drive too often, change your trans fluid to see if this helps, if not make sure honda knows this an document it for possible future problems with the trans.

I’ll let the dealer know. I’m quite disappointed I almost don’t want the car now. The jerking is not a huge problem but it shouldn’t be happening. I’ve had a couple brand new cars and never gave the cars reliability a thought. When you add the sluggish cvt to the mix, it leaves a sour taste. I almost wish I had got the Mazda 3 as it doesn’t have cvt. Anyway, whatever. Thanks.
