Need advice, suggestions
Car is a 2010 Fit Base, five speed auto, 80,000 miles, runs excellent.
1). TPMS indicator light on dash stays lit. Local Honda dealer advises that it indicates one or more pressure sensors has failed. Tells me cost to replace all 4 is $600.00. Question…if I do nothing, does this affect the operation of the car??
2). Dealer advises one of the rear shocks is leaking. Cost to replace both shocks is $980.00. Seems high to me. Would Goodyear or similar offer a better price??
Any forum input is welcome…thanks.

welcome to the forum. TPMS does not affect the driving of the vehicle. You do need to monitor your tire pressures more often. if you have a tire shop like americas tires, rally tires, discount tires, or a good tire shop, ask to get an estimate. if your tires are getting close to the ware mark then it would be a good time to change out to new TPMS sending units since the tires are being dismounted. same for shocks if you can find a shop that does tires, shocks, brakes get an estimate. Dealerships do good work, but they have a very very high overhead to keep up. also their labor rate is super high due to the techs most are sent to training. you can also ask friends where they take their vehicles to be repaired and call and ask over the phone. I too had a 07 base Fit w/280k miles never changed a tpms but did replace the cat.. expensive.
