Default Roof load capacity of Honda Fit

My wife really wants a Honda Fit. However, we travel a lot with 2 large dogs. Since we have to put the rear seats down so the dogs have room in the back, we will have to put 70 or 80 pounds of gear on the roof on a removable roof rack.

How much weight can we safely put on the roof of a 2010 Fit?

Thanks, Bobbo

welcome to the forum. Go to FitFreak.net there is a picture of the installation and what he carries. Also an Element is a better use car for what your wife wants to do. I plan to get one soon, and I do have a Fit, and have to do the same thing you're doing
