welcome to the forum. any type of 4 to 1 headers to tail pipe is good, if you want quieter type muffler, use the turbo muffler, and 2-2 1/2 in pipe. This will give good flow, not too loud. And a dx is a good car, it gets you to your destination and back, and does't eat a lot of gas. my 02 gives me 35-40 mpg.

if you go thru e-bay 150-350.00 est. with you installing the parts. Also before you do any mod's on your car, besure the warranty is not inforced. if so, need to advise your honda dealer doing the warranty work on your car about the mod. Some dealers have no problem some want to install it themselves to keep the warranty, some say no coverage if mod's installed.

I like the sound of Greddy exhausts on civics, deep and not too loud. If you keep the stock cat in, you shouldnt have much of a noise problem.
