navi vs. garmin type GPS

Opinions please.... I am a pilot owner (2x) and I am about to purchase a 2009 accord. Question and opinions please. Is the Navi system worth the approx 2k difference in price, or should I spend 300 - 500 and get a top of the line hand held GPS?

Thanks all in advance!!!

welcome to the forum. I understand that the oem is made by kenwood, it has less useable items than an after market that costs less. If you have a hand held, it will go with you, hiking, boating, biking, etc. the oem stays in your car. If you resell the car, the oem then helps on resale vs aftermarket. Your money, your choice. ( money is tight now for most of us.)

I have the Navi system in my Odyssey and also have two hand held GPSs. Give me the Honda system any day. The convience of voice activation plus the ability to look up hotels, restaurants, etc. makes it worth while. Granted, "Rhoda" doesn't always give you the shortest way, but with the ability to scroll the map you can double check her commands. It's been worth every cent. And I'll get those back on the resale.

I own a honda CR-V 2015, and after waiting in the car for 10 min listening audio, the battery was dead, and this is the 3rd time. this is normal? Before I have an odyssey, and not problems about battery, little ones like transmission every 3 years, serviced in honda. never done with the problems.Big money expenses. I brought this one, and I'm not happy. Any advice?

I have nav in two of my cars and to tell the truth my wife's phone is preferred on a trip, much easier to deal with, and often we will compare the two and they recommend different routes.

just my two cents.. but after using the OEM honda navi sysrtems vs a cell phone and google maps with it bluetoothed to the vehicle.. Id choose Google maps on my phone ANY day... and very little if any cost to you (if you already have a smartphone)
