1988 Accord broken air conditioning repair

Forum Members,

I've had an '88 accord for around 6 months now, but the air condition has never worked and moving forward into the summer I am now interested in getting it to work again. I will be honest, I am not too familiar mechanically with automobiles, however, my brother does help me when things need to be repaired.

I was wondering if someone could help direct me as to how to fix the air conditioning in my car. If anyone could break down the procedures I would appreciate the time. Thanks much.

Regards,

Sean

The most common problem is a leak, you have to introduce dye into the system to find the leak and stop it ,if possible, next would be a compressor gone bad.In any event you have to vaccum down the lines to add coolant. It's best to take it to a qualified A/C man. maybe our super mod a/c mech can help with suggestions.
