1998 Honda Civic...acting up!

When im driving and im at about 2-3 thousand RPMs my car seems like it doesnt want to go like its skipping....i can hear it out my exhaust pipe and then it will make a backfire pop sound...what do you think the problem may be?

mine did that as well and would backfire also, you probably need a good tune up thats all. try buying new rotor,cap,plug wires, spark plugs (NGK), and fuel filter. also change your oil and oil filter that should solve that problem of running crappy. i did all that and it ran fine after that.
