1999 Honda motor swap to a JDM
Hi all. I am at the good end of a motor swap. (I hope) I bought a JDM Honda with the knock sensor. I'm hoping it's the hi compression one. I was told it was when I purchased it.
My issue now is that my wiring harness, as it seams there is more receptacles for the wire harness than the JDM engine has. Also is there a trick to laying that thing out so its memory" wil kinda show ya where it goes. I have found out the hard way that the A/C compressor bracket and power steering pump are different, so I'm using the originals. Any help would be awesome. |
Yes and no
I'm in the middle of my swap. Here's what I've found out with mine...
1. The distributor that came on the JDM has a different plug on it than the original. 2. The power steering pulley is bigger on the JDM engine, so the belt don't work. I had to use my original. 3. I'm stumped with the wiring harness currently, it seams that there are more places on the original motor (B20Z) 4. I had to change the oil pump on the JDM motor as it didn't have a CPS on it. Hope this helps. |
