Hi all.

Newbie here and proud owner of 2000 Honda CR-V, that I'm restoring.
Had a question about speakers I"m putting it. When I removed a rear speaker, I found two clips (see pics). The speaker was plugged into clip with two wires. Anyone know what the other clip is for?
Thanks in advance for any help.

The other clip is the tail light connection for a trailer adapter. If you install a tow hitch and want to now trailers the trailer wire converter will connect to that plug.

Is that connector found next to the speaker in the door?
And if it is ... then why would a trailer wire tail light connection be there (instead of being further back)?
Just wondering?

I don't know why Honda put it there, but yes, the trailer wire connector is hidden behind the left rear speaker.

It is also wired to match the car's actual lighting system, with the turn signals and brake lights being separate, so if you want to attach a trailer that uses the American standard 2 light system, you have to plug a converter into it.
