Default 2017 CRV diff fluid change at 25,000 KM

Just took my 2017 CRV in for it's 4th oil change. I was surprised to find that they also changed my differential fluid (at a cost). That seemed pretty early so I checked my owner's manual to see what info it provided. No timing was found.
Anyone else out there experience an early? differential fluid change on their recent model CRV? Also wondering if anyone out there knows what the scheduled timing is for a differential fluid change on a 2017 CRV
I also have a 2000 CRV that is still on the road at 240,000 KM. For that CRV the maintenance schedule requires the 1st differential fluid change at 48 months or 90,000 KM.

Thanks, Al P

i read 90k miles. your service dept wanted to make easy money from you perhaps. I would ask the service mgr why the change and why not following the maintenance service times. unless you complained of a noisy differential.

Thanks for your quick response and guidance acmech52. I suspect you are right about the easy money. I will go back to my service centre for an explanation.
Thanks, alp.

I was there today (stealer) for an oil change at 15k. They suggested a differential oil change($125) and fuel injection cleaning ($250). I didn’t know what to do and couldn’t find anything in the manual. But couldn’t be convinced about the fuel injectors. The service guy said the diff fluid is filled with “break in “ fluid. So I did it. When I picked it up I had another advisor and he looked confused. He asked. Did you get any alerts. I guess I was scammed.

sorry for the gripe

Greg-master. some not all dealers have their service advisors push for extra mx. if in doubt or not following the owners manual or the service guide, tell them ill let you know when i have the added funds. if your car is out of warranty, you can go to where ever you wish that can do the same mx for less and will not take your money just because. (just a note, this post was done over a year ago. best to make your own post,) most of us on the forum understand when a dealership does not so nice stuff. again not all dealerships do this.
