Unhappy 94 Del Sol No Spark

*This is my first time posting here and I am new to the forum so I apologize for any party fouls or incorrect terminology.

I recently acquired a 94 del sol which was running but had some issues. About a week ago I stopped getting a spark from the wires to the spark plugs.
The car has brand new spark plug wires, spark plugs, battery, and distributor. I took apart the distributor worrying that it could be the ignition coil, but I am getting a spark and I measured 12 Volts so I am quite confused.
When I took the ignition rotor off I measured a negative voltage, so maybe there is no power going through the distributor so that the ignition rotor can individually send sparks to the spark plugs?

Again I apologize for any incorrect terminology I tried my best to say everything correctly, and I will answer any follow up questions so that I might be able to solve this problem.

Thank you so much

Not familiar with the 94 Del Sol.
So, you tested the ignition coil which is inside of the distributor?
The tower gives spark? but the spark plug wires are not getting spark?
That says the rotor which distributes the spark is not functioning correctly
Or the cap has too much resistance to distribute the spark.

Where exactly are you testing for the spark?
At the coil tower? At the top of the cap on the distributor?
At the end of the spark plug wire that goes onto the spark plugs?
Are you sure the engine has a good ground?

Red face

To test the spark I took the distributor cap off and had someone crank the key while holding a multi-meter near the igniter coil spring.

I am not getting a spark at the end of the spark plug wire.
The engine has a good ground there is no rust at all.

Could the igniter coil still be faulty? Should I try to test for the spark on the outside of the distributor cap?

Thank you for your help

You used a multi-meter to test for spark????
I don't even understand how? What setting did you have it on?
Those sparks are suppose to be in the kilovolts range??
Using a test light with the clip on ground or chassis
The probe would be a slight distance away to check for spark while someone cranked the engine
(keeping hands clear)

The first test was spark at the plug end of the wires
No spark then go to distributor without spark plug wire
Then take off the cap and see if spark comes out of the coil tower

Angry

I just used the multi-meter as a ground to test for a spark

UPDATE: There is no longer a vacuum leak, also the engine was not grounded and now it is. Still nothing.

I have found out that it was not a wire issue. As cylinder 1, 2, and 3 are getting sparks from the distributor to the spark plugs. Cylinder 4 however is not getting a spark out of the distributor. Either way... The car should still be cranking even if it sounds awful. I am not even getting a bite... Any idea what else it could be? I no longer thing this is a distributor related problem.

check timing belt for slip, check timing marks to match to piston position.

I would go from ignition to fuel testing.
Spray a little starter fluid in the in take and see if it tries to catch
Then, I would go onto the timing.
