ABS on a CRV

When braking hard the wheels lock up, This tells me the ABS isn't working.[:-]
I have no ABS dash light on.
I have no manual and I can not see a server unit or wheel sensors
The car is a 1997 CRV:eek:
Does this CRV really have ABS at all? cause I can't see any ABS componants at all
How does the ABS work on this car?
Where are the wheel sensors?
where do i start looking for problems?
If in Australia you can call me on 0412119530[:@]

RE: ABS on a CRV

I'm not sure if your vehicle is equipped with ABS or not. Especially if you purchased it overseas (Im in the US). If you do there can be a simple explaination. Your ABS dash light could be burned out. They best way to check is to get in the vehicle and turn your key to the "ON" or "ACCESSORY" position. This should run a quick diagnostic on all your dash lights. If you do not see and ABS light, your vehicle may not be equipped, the bulb could be burned out, or a fuse for the ABS system may be blown.Check it out and get back to me. Good luck.
