A/C stopped working

I have an ’08 CRV with about 150,000 miles on it. It has the auto climate control feature which appears to be working, i.e. it displays correctly. The car sat for two weeks while we went on vacation. When we returned and drove the car, no a/c. The a/c has always worked as it should prior to this. The compressor is not cycling on at all and the system has gas. I swapped out the relay in the fuse block under the hood and it made no difference. Any ideas on what I should check next before taking it to a shop? A friend of mine said he believes Honda uses one or two temperature sensors. True? If so, would they cause the a/c to just shut off? Thanks in advance for your help.

I think I'm going to replace the compressor, as I found a lot of posts on another site and the consensus seems to be that over time the clutch fails to engage. Since the compressor was hung in the air and the car built around it, I'm not going to try to repair it. The alternator looks scary too so I'm going all in! The alternator on my '99 Si locked up without warning and since this CRV is the wife's I'm gonna do a pre-emtive strike! I'll update after I am done.

Sorry about the late update. I replaced the compressor and charged the system, all is well. I also did the alt and water pump.
