Is a CBR900 Rear Shock Compatible with a CBR600?

Hey everyone.
I have a quesiton?
I have a 93 F2 CBR600 and I want to change out the rear shock. Can I use a CBR900 rear shock? and if so is there a specific year which will be more compatible?
