Civic power door lcok motor

I put this in the Civic forum and nobody has had an answer yet. Maybe you'll can help.

I have taken apart the power door lock actuator for my 2000 Civic EX because it quit working. It appears the motor is just too weak to drive the spring loaded gear anymore. The motor is a Mabuchi but has no other markings other than UF on the plastic end cap. The dealer wants $67 for a new actuator, the junk yards want $65 for a whole latch (who's to say if that motor would be any better). I hate paying $67 bucks for a motor that probably costs $3.99. Has anybody had any luck finding a replacement motor

RE: Civic power door lcok motor

welcome to the forum, seems no one here has had door lock motor problems but in Ca. there is a place called FRY's that has all types of small electronic motors, this would be a place I would try first. I'll try to find out from amech friend if he has any sources to go to. Also have you tried ebay, any toy motor hobby shop, company is located3001, West Big Beaver Road suite 520, Troy Mi, 48084 ph 1-248-816-3100 or Fax 1-248-816-3242
