Default Engine Oil

I would like to know if a good quality engine oil 5W30 would be acceptable as a substitudefor the recommended 5W20 in the 2007 CRV. The CRV will never operate in cold weather. If it is detrimental to the engine, I will get rid of my supply of 30 qts of 5W30 oil otherwise I will use it.

Default RE: Engine Oil

Aloha and welcome to the forum. If your car is under warranty, use the reccommended 5w20 oil. If you want to change it, call the dealer service manager get his name, date, time, and his ok. You don't want any reason for the Honda dealer to say, " you did not use the reccommended oil for the car, that is why _________ broke" I have 5w20 mobil from the time the car is new, driven from 115 down to -10, never a problem, 145k now, still running good.
