Fuel Filter Problems...
Hey guys,
I have a 97 Honda Accord 2.2L VTEC. my vehicle has been in 2 wrecks, and i am now having issues with fuel trim. I know that i need to change the fuel filter but i cannot remove it. and when i took it to a mechanic they said that they wouldn't touch it because my fuel filter bracket was broken. Now I cannot get my vehicle to pass an inspection and I NEED the fuel filter to be replaced. I can remove the line that goes to the fuel rail and the two worthless bracket bolts, but I cannot get to the rear bolt. There isnt any space for a wrench or a special socket. How do i fix this? |
Welcome in,these filters are the worst to remove,if you have the top done as you say,go under the car use a 19 mm crowfoot wrench to stabilize the filter and a 14 mm flarenut crowfoot on the fitting, its important to use the flare nut wrench or you will round it off ,good luck.

A impact will get them off very easy. There are 2 bolts in one on the fuel line. Only unscrew the big one.
