Camshaft Specs
Special Note:You can use a D16Z Cam in a D16Y Head but you have to use the Cam Gear from a D16Z because it'll be a 1/2 timing tooth off..same goes for D16Y cam in D16Z Head,just use Cam Gear for a D16Y..Do NOT buy any aftermarket Cam Gear for a D16Y from a company if they only have one Cam Gear available for the 88 thru 00 Ds.I recommend and use a AEM Gear,they have the right Cam Gears for 88-95s and 96-00s

umm i dont get what you are asking

hi i´m from germany and i´m interestet in asking you all id you just have d16z6/y8/a6 in the usa?i have an d16a8 (without vtec,dohc) with 124 hp i think its called zc in america?am i right or if not please give me information:)

Engine Code Help

my 97 del sol motor is blown. i have tried all over to locate a d16y8. apparently there is no seller who carries a d16y8. i was however able to find a seller www.jspecauto.com who has listed a d16y8 "just engine" for sale. i purchased the motor and rcvd it and looked at the engine code it is stamped as "d16a." there is no # following it. alot of threads post specs for d16a1 or d16a4 etc but nothing on just a d16a. users of other threads have not posted any solid info regarding why there is no numerics following the d16a__?. can anyone provide me with information as to what the specs are for a "d16a" motor?

Honda designed the D16A VTEC with a 1,590-cubic centimeter displacement, an electronic fuel injection system and a 16-valve double overhead cam configuration. Additionally, the engine has a 2.95-by-3.54-inch bore and stroke and a 9.5-to-1 compression ratio.

In the Acura Integra, the D16A VTEC produces 118 horsepower and 103 foot-pounds of torque. Paired with a five-speed manual transmission, the engine has a fuel economy of 26 mpg for city driving and 30 mpg for highway driving.

Equipped with the Honda D16A VTEC, the Acura Integra can go from zero to 60 miles per hour within nine seconds. It can also cover a quarter of a mile within 16 seconds.
